Hi Folks

Had a local shop paint a few rifles for me and the finish seems soft and not durable.
All three were done in air dry black cerakote. Was cleaning one today and I could remove
part of the finish with MP7 pro gun cleaner and a brawny paper towel.

Is this normal for this finish? It also seems that the paper towel mattes out the finish too.

Thanks in advance.

In my experience it tends to get harder with time. How fresh is your finish?

It should be mostly cured at that point, at least enough to resist what you described.

Sounds like an application problem, but I’ve never used air cure before.
