Any chance of there ever being affordable (under $400-$500) parts kits available any time soon?
Dying to build 1 or 2 rifles to replace the ones I had to sell in the past but the price I see for kits is high out of my current price range.

Any rumors out there?

Doubt it. Sarco had come across a batch of Chilean contract kits with original barrels a few months ago. Those got snatched up pretty quick at $525. There may be the odd lot coming in without barrels but I wouldn’t hold my breath for sub-$500’kits from here on out. Might find an Imbel kit for under $600.

If you check the FAL Files Marketplace regularly you'll find a Chilean IMBEL parts kit in your price range from time to time.  There was a really nice and complete one around $400 not too long ago.  Not much of a chance, otherwise.

I’ve seen the occasional kit up for sale but either too late or temporarily low on funds.

Isn't that how it almost always seems to go?

I've missed out on some great deals on FAL parts due to that.  On the other hand, sometimes I've been able to pounce on something really quickly, sometimes mere seconds before the second person chimes in to try to claim it.

I snagged an l1a1 kit recently for a little over $300.
Apex has Israeli light barrel kits for a little over $500 not including the barrel.
Falfiles market place has good deals pretty often. Gunbroker has some great deals if you find them quick enough and snatch them up with the buy now.

It wasn't that long ago I was toying with building another one but with the cost of the kit and receivers priced so high I'm better off buying a DSA voyager for 1K
and tinkering with that.

I am down to my last kit. Have a G1 kit that will be built on this old DSA G-1 receiver. Found some beautiful Blue Monster wood to go with her.

I’m jealous, hate seeing my FAL tools sitting in a box unused.
