Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - AUG muzzle thread pitch the same? - Newer US vs Austrian PreBan barrels

I have a 16" US made AUG barrel with no flash hider.  I don't know the thread pitch, but was told by the seller that they were contract made by FN.  Will an old-school Austrian tulip-style flash hider and check nut (The octagonal flats) from the pre '89 days fit?

If it has LH threads (which would mean it's M13x1 LH) then yes.

If it has RH threads then it's 1/2-28 (and should also have a groove around the barrel aft of the muzzle threads.
