I take it that you have an older AR-50? The newer ones have a spring loaded release from what I've seen.
I have an older design and use a thumbs crew on mine. Most of them were custom made but you might be able to find something similar. I don't think I have an extra, I might be able to point you in the right direction. Let me get a good contact for you and I'll post it. ETA: Try [email protected] ask for Darin, tell him what you're looking for and that Shawn sent you. If anyone has one, it will be him. |

I don't get out to shoot it too often, but I took my daughter out shooting it yesterday and the small inconvenience of needing a tool was brought to the surface when I was cleaning it... |

Someone made a set of screws to replace the bolt stop and recoil pad screws where they were adjustable without tools.
As 50 shooter said, I think it was Darin @ prince bipods, but it might be Allied Precision. APA. |

Yeah, it was Darin Prince that made all the aftermarket accessories for the AR-50, years ahead of anyone.
I know Darin, we met when Biggerhammer was the place to be. Myself, MrBen, him and some others from SoCal met up at a snow covered Lytle Creek. Darin had an M60 bipod attached to his AR-50 via the original mounting block. I told him he should sell them on Biggerhammer and the rest is history. Although he sold his AR-50 and I don't think he sells stuff to Armalite anymore. I think APA now makes the aftermarket bipod, monipod... |

That bipod attaches via a T slot on the bottom of the rifle stock. It would have to be remade to attach via picatinny rail.
It could be done but I doubt that there's enough interest. |
