No clue

The upper came in on Friday and it just finished drying this morning.  When I make it to the range to zero the optic I’ll probably write a small range report in the brownells industry forum.

Okay, you rat bastards.  I bought an Aervoe kit on clearance from DSG Arms a few years ago.  Never had the guts to use it.  Until I started lurking this thread.  Figured I'd go for it on this low-budg build.  It turned out better than I expected.

It even blends in fairly well.

I like it so much, I'm thinking of painting a Glock.

Thanks for the inspiration!

I like your green and tan. I was dropping below 50% remaining paint coverage last week so sprayed over the old job and ended up with this.

Pretty overcast today.  Might need to add some more brown and dark green

Adding darker shades of green and brown colors is a mistake. They will just register as BLACK in the shade, which exactly the opposite of what camo accomplishes. A leaf doesn't actually change it's color in the shade.

It’s the SplitFix by Wisemen company.  They were out of woodland so I went with multicam.  They have several options.

Thank you Sir. Wow they have a lot of options. I just rattle canned my AR pistol yesterday. Best match might be the Kryptek Nomad. Anyways thanks for the link!

I'm looking for a shade of green that's darker than Krylon camo olive.  Anyone got any Ideas?  I think I might like it to be darker than Magpul odg.
I'm thinking Rust-Oleum deep forest green, but there are others like Aervoe, and I'm wondering how that would look next to the Krylon.  I'm also looking for something that's a little more yellow than Krylon khaki.  Like a dead foliage color.  Once again, Rust-Oleum or Aervoe?

Here is kind of an example of what I'm after.  Notice the 2 different shades of green on the handguard.

Makes perfect sense. You whip that out against an assailant and they'll be so distracted by the "camo" that you'll have all day to place the perfect shot.

@Kidnap-44 Rustoleum khaki and I think Aervoe earth brown. Kept this one simple; it works fairly well across most of the terrain in my neck of the woods.

My first paint job. Had trouble deciding the colors and proportions of each one due to my area being so varied in terrain types. On one mountain you can go from dry dead grass, to grey quarry, to red clay, to dense evergreen and underbrush.

So I downed a few beers till I didn't care
I think it turned out well.

Seems too dark. At even short to medium distances, I'm betting it will appear to be virtually black,  which is what you're trying to avoid. Shoulda gone with a much lighter green in my opinion.
