Watching a Facebook interview with Adam B from Bushmaster and they have some very interesting stuff for the ACR coming this year.
- .450 Bushmaster conversions and rifles - 6.8 SPC conversions and rifles - full-time ambi charging handle - Squaredrop and MLOK handguards - ACR pistol - likely more calibers later this year He said they were estimating June for the conversions and later in Q3 for the complete rifles. Didn’t mention timing for the other stuff. He was very appreciative of the fans and loyalty toward the platform. Looks like a good spread of new gear! |

Wow, better late than never, I guess.
Pistol with anadjustable brace like the sba3 would be great, no need to sbr. |

No brace on the pistols, just a qd socket on them. The new handguards felt awesome. They felt very close to my Remington defense handguard but with a more modernized mounting system.
The caliber conversions are going to be complete with a barrel, bolt, mag, and charging handle assembly. The new caliber rifles will have the option to come with the square drop handguard as well as the Acr pistol in 5.56. |

Wow,
I would imagine those caliber conversions are NOT going to be cheap considering what they come with. Its already 600 bones for a damned barrel assembly for this thing so im guessing 800-900 for the conversion? |
|
[#9]
The caliber conversions are estimated at 799 plus shipping which isn’t bad when you consider how much you get with it. I’m not sure if there will be a stand alone barrel or bolt kit for a while. The charging handle assemblies will be available separately though

I can't wait for ambi charging handle & Remington M-Lok style hand guard.

I’ll believe all of it when I see it... been hearing the same tune for the almost decade I’ve owned my ACR.

Grabbed some pics from FB...

Picked up a lower @ the NRA convention for $35. If anyone has any spare lower bits, IM me. I think the only parts I've really gotta have is the mag release.
The pistol looked kinda neat. A .450 Bushmaster would work in some of the states that have just legalized straight wall cartridge hunting. |

Looks like I might be able to do it out of Legos. With the lower regularly priced at $100, doesn't seem much point.

Unless I miss my guess, the mag sits prouder of the ACR lower than an AR's. So I'd either have to build up a front pivot pin hole, or make my own mag release. Since I'm doing my own mag release anyway, should be easier just to cut a hole further down in the plastic.
I hate to modify it too much, b/c it would be nice to build up a replacement in Legos. Doesn't seem much point to that either, other than an intellectual curiosity. |

Has anybody heard if Bushmaster will actually start building rifles in serious quantities? Seems the one everybody is looking for are the FDE rifles and they are very hard to find.

I had one on order since March but after the production date being changed 3 times I canceled. Not sure wtf they are thinking.

Part numbers, pictures, and MSRPs are starting to pop up in distributor databases. Let me repeat that, these are MSRPs. Don't get all worked up because the MSRP is high, it is on the other ACRs. Knock $450-$700 off to get an idea of street price on the rifles.
ACR pistol for $2,122.56 ACR .450 16.5" for $2,369.47 ACR .450 18.5" for $2,369.47 ACR 6.8 SPC 16.5" for $2,221.33 ACR .450 conversion 16.5" for $1,347.22 ACR .450 conversion 18.5" for $1,347.22 ACR 6.8 SPC conversion 16.5" for $1,347.22 Points of comparison for rifles already out: ACR DMR for $2,556.41 Street price is around $1850 ACR Black Basic Folder for $2,122.56 Street price is around $1640 |

Bushmaster said they have other calibers in development beyond the first two. I imagine the 6.8 SPC was the first one "done" since it was part of the old research, and .450 BM is a current corporate priority for them. I suspect .300BLK will be in the next set they do if these are successful. (Guessing 7.62x39 at some point too.) I'll also note the variety of manufacturers that have tackled the .300BLK game to find it takes a lot longer to come up with a gas system that isn't a total trainwreck given the suppressed, unsuppressed, subsonic, and supersonic combinations everyone wants to make. Took IWI a least a year over what they originally thought to do it for the Tavor.

The new caliber conversions that aren't based on a 5.56 casing will need to include a new bolt at the least, not sure if they'll have a new carrier or not as well. The extra parts will always add up to more than the basic 5.56 kits. View Quote |

300 in the Acr is really hard to do. It will require a completely new gas block to work. I’m working on a new system but it takes some time. For now I’m just modifying the current pieces to fit together and run.

I'm doing the 300 conversions still but it takes modifying the gas block and charging handle tray. It works good but not modifying the charging handle assembly is my main goal now. I actually have 5 of them in the pipeline now.
