About 10 years ago, a friend acquired this pistol for $50. He never thought much of it, then just the other day he decided to find out what it was and whether it had any value.
Bergmann-Bayard Model 1910/21 Estimated value is around $3,000 - $4,000. He plans to have it appraised, of course.

I sold a 1911 barrel for around 3K, paid $50 for it and some other 1911 parts so steals and deals are out there.

I know this is a post-WW1 modified gun, but if your friend is a cool guy, he could see if Othais over at C&Rsenal is interested in using this for one of their episodes.

What do mean, modified?
From the markings it appears to be an original, manufactured in Denmark in 1924. The wooden grips appear to be original. What else do you see that leads you to believe it's been modified? He has not shot it. Not sure he plans to. Yes, everything is for sale, but he doesn't need the money, and would rather will it to his daughter. Provenance: A family acquaintance knew he liked guns, and asked him if he wanted to buy an old gun a friend of his was trying to sell for $50. The rest of you? Go buy some chewing gum. They have lots of different flavors to choose from. |
