Recommendations for a 1/2x28 9mm rifle flash hider?  It's a nominal 16 inch barrel.  Yes, I know a suppressor is better, but I want a flash hider.  My experience with non-9mm is vortex and A2.

MyPillow
Makes one but it’s not threaded. On the up side you can get designer pillow cases for it.

Smith Vortex

I dont think you will get any flash at 16" anyway but A2

I use a YHM-4315 on a Scorpion and a 77/357 so I can have a QD R9.

I know you said no can, but they're pretty decent either way, and if you ever go can you already have the mounts for an R9.

I also use YHM-4315. I use it with a R9. But it’s also like a normal flash hider.

I have a 9mm version of the Smith-Vortex... No-Flash with the 8" barrel... So you will Never have a flash with a 9mm 16" barreled version with a Smith on it!

I stuck a Silencer Co ASR flash hider on mine. I’ve got an Omega 45k on the way, and the flash hider will also serve as a suppressor mount once the cab arrives.

Third vote, have the exact same setup on my B&T.

I run a linear compensator on my sub2000. No flash and makes it a few db's lower at the shooter's ear.

Even an A2 is overkill for the essentially nonexistent flash from a 16 in. 9mm barrel.  Just use a thread protector.  It's all I have on two 16 in. 9mm barrels (and one .45 ACP 16 in. barrel); and I have not yet started any grass or forest fires, or been attacked due to giving away my position to an enemy.

MHO, YMMV, etc. Good luck.  Be well.

I tried a few on a 10.5 9mm ar. An a1 flash hider is cheap, and got rid of more than 87% of the flash

I'd say an a2 is about 87, a1 is 95. Can't beat it.

The a2 just had an extra slot on the bottom. I doubt there is much compensation effect from 9mm pressures, and I wouldnt think you'd be too worried about kicking up dirt proned out either.

Another vote for the A2.  Works great and is inexpensive.

I use a YHM-4315 on a Scorpion with YHM R9.

I use A2 or one of the short KAK flash cans on my builds.

I have the VG6 Epsilon brake/flash hider on my Scorpion.  I don't know how many flashes it kills, but it looks good, and doesn't seem to make the report any louder to my ears.
