The optics thread was really helpful, so I'm going to try the same with ammo. List what ammo you've used, the gun used in and results (accuracy, cleanliness, condition of brass, retailer, etc).

I'll try to keep this updated.

Off the top of my head how is:

Stryker (American Marksman)
AM Lake City
Thunder Ammo

Survival Ops appears to be G2G but with poor communication

I ordered 120 rounds of the M33 loads from American Marksman and with it going in my 107, I wanted to check them out (the prices are sooooo good). I tore apart five (from three different boxes of 20) and here are my results. I realize it's a very small sample size.

SD of 0.3 and range 0.8 on the powder (230gr of something)
SD of 0.47 and range of 1.2 on the bullets (650gr)
SD of 0.016 and range of 0.05 on the OAL (5.45 is the spec)

I did tear three necks while removing the bullets (holding the case and using pliers to pull bullet).

He's referring to the Standard Deviation (SD) of the components used. Which looking at them is pretty damn amazing for surplus components and powder loads.

Yes...especially the bullets.  My stock of API's run from 648 to 654!.  Then again....I have several K.  My M-33's are a bit tighter but not match winners by any stretch.

I've shot the following out of mine. I'm not sure how accurate they are because I haven't purposely tried for the smallest groups possible.

PMC ball
AE ball
AP, API, and ball from Survival Ops
Hornady A-Max

I have some loaded by MrBen that I haven't shot. They are loaded with Barnes TAC-X.

This is a group of 3 Survival Ops API rounds I shot at 100 yards. I don't think it's too bad considering that I'm not anywhere close to being the most accurate shooter.

Stryker (American Marksman)

Has any one shot this ammo in there Barrett 82-107?
I usually shot Lake city/Federal and it shoots well and function 100%.
The Stryker ammo has been on sale for $ 2.25-2.50 per round is it any good?

thanks

Nick

I've shot probably 30 rounds of it through my 107. No issues. It's not overly accurate, but that could be me too. With a decent breeze, at 600 yards, I was prolly 3MOA on less than ideal gun rest (on a folding table).

It does show up pretty dirty though.

See the post above for my results when I tore a few of their rounds apart.

Just ordered some more of American Marksman's 50bmg ammo and it looks like they are cleaning it now. It looks much better than the first batch I ordered. Also got here in just a few days after ordering.

Hey Rip, are you still happy with that ammo?  I will order a case for my buddies to plink with.   Who makes a solid match grade for me to sight in with?  Obviously it is going to be user and gun specific, just looking for a good starting point.

Yep. It goes bang every time. At 600 yards I was about 2MOa out of a semi auto. Likely most of that was me. I've gone through maybe 70 rounds.

Sweet, I am going to grab a case for my friends to shoot.   I like them, but not $6-10 a shot... Hahah.
