Correct, the 45-70 doesn't have a large max chamber pressure. The volume of gases, however, will be a bit more. The bore size needs to also be taken into account.
Get something in the 1.625OD x 8-9in length. |

Get something in the 1.625OD x 8-9in length. 45-70 takes up to (wait for it) 70 grains of powder (if you use black). My .45 ACP runs on 4.5 grains of powder. Lot more gas to deal with from a 45-70. |
