This looks much better than anything I seen previously.
I might print one. |

The future is right freaking now lol. I want a printer bad now.

The buffertubeless uppers are what was really needed for 3D printed lowers. All that stress of the spring and buffer being contained by the plastic was no bueno.
These jakl and brn180 style uppers have the metal upper receiver containing all the recoil forces. The lower can be just shitty plastic and doesn't take such a beating. Thats the FM-15. Its another bufferless design with the charging handle forward on the handguard like an MP5 or scorpion. I'd question using the BRN-180 due to the reciprocating charging handle. Left-handed shooting is a no-go a la L85. It would in fact be the L85 we have at home. JAKL and FM-15 seem like legit options. It could be possible to make one that works with the MCX, but you would need the lower to be reinforced and come up to support the recoil spring/guide rod assembly. |

It just occurred to me that this would work with a CMMG or similar .22LR upper. That would be a fun little training blaster.

Hmmmm... Thinking hard about this.. I did not find any reviews on ARF, anyone have one? $499... Add Foxtrot Mike or Jakl upper for side charging. I wonder how this compares to the 3D printed one?
Bullpup Kit Let's see how my hotlink skills work Secondly, what is the legality of selling a 3d printed lower. Say the person that printed it wanted a different color or material, could the old one be sold as long as it was not made specifically to be sold. I don't have a 3d printer but would buy someone's printed Bullpup if they are tired of. I assume like an 80%, as long as one is making it for personal use and not making for sale it's OK? And before someone says it; not Glowie or FATF or whatever the cool kids are doing these days. |
|
The SCY and this 3d printed lower are not the same thing.
SCY bolts onto a regular AR lower. This 3d printed AR bullpup lower requires an upper that has an integrated buffer. The 3D printed lower parts have not been released publicly or been offered for sale. There are a few people on the bullpup subreddit that have built up some SCY ar15's. Might be worth checking there. |

The creator of the 3d kit stated he'll release it when ready. For the price of the SCY I could buy the printer I have been wanting. |

Typically they bust some dude w/ a router & a jig who's been cranking out aluminum 80%s, building complete rifles, & is selling them at gun shows w/o an FFL. |

They certainly have the technical skills, but doubt they have the interest. Plus they have some drama around them so probably a full plate. Manticore Arms would be cool, as they love bullpups and have the technical skills / familiarity based on their work with the Scorpion bullpup: https://manticorearms.com/product/scorpion-evo-bullpup-kit/ And of course having FM Products, makers of the FM-15, seems to have the most to gain from the development. Not sure how hip they are with polymer though. |

Looks like you need an 18" barrel to hit 26" OAL? I believe he had his 16" barrel pinned.
As an alternative: Looks like the lower uses SL style recoil pads. Technically you can print a spacer and use the thicker SL recoil pad. Just as an option. |
|
Manticore is on this forum and frequents it often.
If they have an interest in this they would reach out to the creator. KE arms is an interesting idea. The recent drama is around AR15 monolithic designs. This one wouldn't have any IP conflict and they might be well suited for this. |
|
Does anyone know of any 1913 direct attach stocks that would work with that SCY kit and an FM15? Just about the only thing giving me pause about ordering one would be that there aren't any stocks available for it.

I assumed it was due to the lawsuit. I wanted to suggest combining their polymer lower with SFA's Saint Edge ATC chassis deaign. These would be neat still. |

I was thinking of that too. Honestly wonder if you could Integrate, something similar today a PDW stock with bars or something. However the bars would actually slide into tubes for cheek weld. (similar to a SoPmod's battery tubes). You could always integrate that with the picatinny cheek rest. I mean it probably wouldn't be used much but it would still serve a function for overall like the pool which would get you 26 in without any fuckery such as a pin and weld. This way if you were going to pin and weld anyway and still be able to use that upper. The stock bars would have to be higher up. Similar to a safety harbor stock. |

You'd still be able to shoulder.it fully collapsed. Attached File 3D print something similar to this, but it serves as a Picatinny rail cover. The battery tubes would also cover/shroud the pdw stocks bars. Attached File I kinda did a mock up with my FM15 stock folded. The carry handle riser is definitely needed so you aren't scraping your knuckle on a mounted optic. I wondered about a G36 carry handle.. no just no lol. The idea looked better in my head. This is honestly insane, and I love it. Have always wanted to try to make something like this before. But that was before 3d printing took off. Can't wait to see what comes of it.
Have no idea if that one premade lower conversion is related, but I remember years ago there was a thread where someone showed off a conversion kit that you dropped an entire lower into it. |
