What distance is everyone zeroing their Marlin or other 38/357 lever guns at?

Mine are both zero'd at 200yds, however, I shoot mostly full power 158grn .357mag loads.  My 'plinking' loads are 125grn with a healthy does of Unique as well.

Zero mine dead on at 25 yards. Still able to ring steel easily at 100.

Figure out where you need it to be "On", and go from there.

I zeroed my 357 Mag. carbine at 50 yards, since most "in the woods" shots around here are between 50-80 yards.

Stay safe,
Bob S.

I do this as well, I usually shoot from 10-100 yards with mine. The fast 38’s and normal 357 Mag loads impact similar enough for me to be happy.

For those zeroing at 25, what’s a holdover at 100 look like?

Try this:

https://www.federalpremium.com/Ballistics-Calculator

Figure a 158gr JHP with ballistic coefficient 0f .200 and a muzzle vel of 1735 out of a 16" Winchester 94 rifle with a .470" sight height:

info from:
http://ballisticsbytheinch.com/357mag.html
https://www.federalpremium.com/reloading/bullets/hydra-shok-component-bullet/11-PB357HS158.html
https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/W94DFS

EDIT:  sight height to use on web calculator page may need height from muzzle center instead of height from base, so may need to recalculate figuring correct sight height
