This stuff has always worked well for me, and the hundreds of shooters I've taught in Appleseeds.  I like the fact that it's copper plated, and it's reasonably accurate.

I bought a case from them back in June.  $219.19 shipped, so that's 4.17 cents per round shipped.

Since both of the linked websites so far are a bunch of morons and won't ship to ny I would look at targetsportsusa. They are usually right in line with everyone else's pricing and have free shipping if you buy a case.

4.55¢/rd at Academy shipped free. It was an even better deal with their infamous 20% off code last spring.

Depending on your application.  CCI Standard velocity has been about 220 or less per 5K/Case.
This is good shooting ammo in my guns.  Is it the uber best, no.  But, way cheaper then Wolf Gold Match and SK Rifle Match which shoot the best for me.

I know that my Ruger 10/22 is somewhat "picky" about ammo.  Federal Auto Match does NOT work for me.  And, that also goes for a lot of the Federal plated 22LR bulk stuff when using Ruger BX-25 magazines.

I've found that CCI Blazer 40 grn lead has worked well with most of the semi autos in my collection.

The exception is......with my Walther P22 which likes Remington bulk Thunderbolt.  I haven't tried it with Remington Golden Bullets yet.   And before we go there.....I don't/won't pay for CCI Mini Mags for a pistol that I have regulated to "plinker" status.

Aloha, Mark

Pro-Tip - Find out what loads YOUR particular firearm runs reliably and accurately BEFORE you start buying .22LR in 5,000 round quantities. I have guns that run one brand/weight/velocity of .22LR GREAT while others choke on the same stuff and vice-verse.

I don't have a problem with CCI Blazers.  But, they aren't as accurate as the CCI SV or GECO Bolt stuff that I recently bought.

That being said.....Fed Auto Match and some of the various plated 22LR ammo gives me problems.  Then, even though the SV stuff is accurate.....well, you can feel the recoil difference vs. the CCI Blazer ammo.  So, I'd guess.....that some people may have different results, as for it's reliable feeding and extraction abilities.

Bottom line:  Try a bunch of ammo and pick the one that works for you with your particular firearm.

I've had good luck with the Blazer ammo. so far so good in 10/22, my bolt gun, and a few of my buddy's random 22s.

If you're not looking for super precision there's no reason not to stock some up. I use the bulk stuff for practicing transitions, dropping steel, etc. I [refer reliable over dead nuts accurate in this context at least.

Recently, my local Bi-Mart store had this on sale for $49.97 a case of 1600 rounds.  I haven't tried it yet.  But, I figured that since it was cheap enough, "Why not try it?"

Each 50 round box is just plain Jane and void of information.  Note: Not For Individual Resale.  Also, the case label is void of information.  I was particularly looking for info on the ammo's muzzle velocity.

Aloha, Mark

Academy sells a bucket of 1100 Federal 22 LR for $50, on sale occasionally for $45.  So the case deal you found is a good deal.  I prefer the boxed ammo versus bulk too.

This ammo is giving me Sub MOA 5 shot groups at 100 yards out of a 10/22. Rifle has a BX trigger, no name bull barrel and is in a Ruger Laminated factory bull barrel stock- nothing special really. This is great ammo. I DO get an occasional failure to fully eject. Could be my ejector hook is not holding the case base tightly enough. I may change to a VQ and see if that eliminates the problem. But, for the money, pretty damn hard to beat this ammo. The Eley priming system they use is superior to other systems in my opinion.

I will agree that CCI STD is fine ammo . Many semi autos will not run it or are fussy with it however. Know which of your guns like it and you are all set.
I run a lot of it as accuracy is key to me in most situations.

Your rifle or handgun may not like certain brands.  At any rate......test them for yourself.

I ran this simple test the other day.  I used my Ruger 10/22 with a SS 16" fluted Green Mtn barrel at 25 yds.  three shots per diamond.

Of course, your results will vary.

This is terrible advice.what you do is buy the ammo first.

Then if your gun doesn't work with it, well, you'll need to get another gun that will. Oh well

Hope everybody is getting in on the Federal "black pack" ammo rebate going on.  Best deal is 22lr.  Academy has it for $50 a box, palmetto and others for $60.  If you can catch it in stock at Academy, it comes out to 1.875 cents per round after rebate.

That's insane.  Federal has got to be losing money on that deal.

I'm going to wait and see some reviews on it.  I'm already sitting on a pile of 22 ammo I never shoot because it's either unreliable or innaccurate, or both (Remington Golden bullets).

I logged into academy while it was there and bought 5 cases. was able to do 270 shipped for 8k rounds. minus $100 rebate, 8% active junky, 2% CC points, $10 AJ first time buyer. it was too cheap not to. I'll use it as blasting ammo at the range with my competitive shooting team. I have had good luck running it in the 10/22 before, and if not I'll still throw it through a bolt gun. it will take a damn long time to burn up through a bolt gun

I picked up a pack of this stuff for $19.99 at Wal Mart a couple of weeks ago on a lark and I've been very impressed with its performance. In my MKII FV I was getting very consistent (~75%) hits on a 4" plate at 200 yards last weekend. Ideal conditions with zero wind off of a bipod, but still in my mind pretty impressive for bulk stuff. This gun generally doesn't shoot too well with high velocity ammo, but this seems to do the trick.
