Posting this in both rimfire subforums as well as gunsmithing.

Does anyone have a 22 chamber swage I could borrow? I'll gladly pay shipping, both ways, and have it back in a reasonable amount of time.

Picked up an older mkii. Previous owner must have displaced or lost the firing pin stop, rebound spring and support. Needless to say, the chamber is damaged and resulting in stuck cases.

Made a number of them over the years.

Likely they are still lurking in a box in the shop.

A piece of oil hardening tool steel rod and lathe lets you do a lot of things.

I put a taper on them based on the divot size and length of chamber.

Harden after machining and polishing.

Gently tap in, put brass rod up barrel and tap back out.
Check burr.
Repeat if required.

@eric10mm
A gentleman on CastBoolits let me borrow his. I emailed him a shipping label and promptly returned it, after usage.

@brickeyee
I was going to make one, but I've never needed it and don't see myself needing it again (the burr came w/ the used gun)
If, in the future, I have a need, I'll turn one out.

Make sure you have a decent hardening technique.

If you have a lathe, or any machine, you should have a machinery handbook. In it will be hardening techniques.

That should be able to get it hot enough.

You need to know what quenching medium the steel is made for.
Water, oil, air.

The air never seems to get as hard as I want it though.
Water and oil usually come out well.
You can increase the odds by putting it in a gas oven at the highest temp you can before hitting it with a torch.

IIRC I did not then temper it.
Used it as hard as I could get.

It should not need all than much hammering to set back a chamber divot in a .22 RF.
I used a 16 oz dead blow and a few taps.

If it has a smooth polished finish, some lube, and a gentle taper it is easy.
Pop it out with a brass rod from the muzzle.
