Every once in a while I remember I ordered a Randall 3 years ago. Damn 5 years is a long time to wait.
Model #5, 8 inch Ivorite Border Patrol handle Nickel double hilt Anyone else got one on the waiting list? I actually do plan on using this one as well, I plan on cutting up a lot of deer with it. |

Yeah, I know, I will be getting a standard attack model from one, but I ordered this one 3 years ago so it's a done deal. I keep my eye on the 3 sites I know of that you can get Randall's quickly from.

I'm impatient, Nifeboy.com, Chris Stanaback, Arizona Custom knives.

I just got my first one from basically an estate sale. My brother's friend step dad died.
It's a big Bowie version, not my first choice if I was ordering, but the quality is amazing. I'm a fan now, even though I'm not a "knife guy. " Attached File |

I made a deposit on two Randalls back in the late 1990s (IIRC). After about three years I sent them a letter telling them to keep the deposit but not make the knives for me.
I discovered Busse Combat around 2007 (again IIRC). Changed everything for me. |

I haven’t ordered directly from the shop in many years. I usually go through Capt. Stanaback or Buxton’s. I am waiting for a Model 15 from Stanaback now……it’s been about 15 months.

My last Randall 14 with 7-1/2” blade took 5.5 years.
Worth the wait. Beautiful workmanship! |

Is the fascination that they are just hard to get and have a long legacy?
Or do they bring something else to the table that no other knifemaker can match? |

A Randall has been carried in every theater of war since WWII.
They are timeless. |

It was the original DNA for the Model #1 all purpose fighting knife and the military models that followed. Bo Randall’s WW2 fighting knives are what started the legend. @LuckyC
It belongs to a friend of a friend, both are advanced Randall collectors - my friend is Joe Dorsky, the "authenticator" for Randall Knives. More info on it HERE |

Quoted: Unless you want a fully customized knife you need not wait more than a couple of days. I ordered this and had it in two days. https://i.imgur.com/vcNeyiL.jpg There are several dealers that have some pretty extensive inventories. At least one sometimes has "used" knives that have never been "used". View Quote I always wanted a RMK but couldn't abide the long wait. I happened to notice that a local gunstore had an inventory of them and picked up a Model 1-7. I fell in love with it and started looking around for other authorized dealers to circumvent the long wait times. I just ordered a 25-6 with stag/leather from The Captain and should get it in 4 months. I'm thinking of getting a Model 3-7 from him also. Such beautiful knives! |

Quoted: They went to the moon and Westmoreland carried one on his belt, in Vietnam, so Randall has those going for it. Chris View Quote ...and General Gavin carried a Model 1/Fighter during the Normandy campaign - it's on display in the museum at West Point IIRC I copied the scabbard his was in so I could carry mine for a week around Normandy on one of our uniformed trips there (sleeping in original fox-holes and shell scrapes, etc.) Would love an original WW2 era Randall Fighter |

On two occasions I called Randall, and they had knives I wanted in their display case that they were willing to sell. I ended up with standard model of the 8"- #1, and an 8" -#2, neither had any unusual features, they were straight up carbon steel factory display models. Wish I still had 'em.

View Quote I just ordered a Model 3-7" ss blade with finger grooves (jimping) with nickel silver hilt and duralumin crow's beak pommel and spacers with leather grips from CPT Stanaback. I'm debating on having my 25-6 shipped with it to save a couple bucks on shipping, but since the 25-6 is a standard with no extras it won't take very long and the model three is loaded, it might take awhile. Should I suck it up and pay separate shipping? |

I just pay an authorized dealer a few extra bucks and I get it in less than 6 months. Purchased 5 knives this way.

Hope to get a Model 2 soon
I was also made aware of an Italian made copy of the WW2 fighter. No idea of the firm or company name. Yet. |

Ever wonder why they don’t invest in more production capacity?

Quoted: Ever wonder why they don’t invest in more production capacity? View Quote Some businesses are happy to be where they are. Not everybody wants to bethe next Apple, or Walmart, plus low production numbers keep demand/expectations higher. Think ‘sports stadiums.’ If there are unlimited tickets, or large numbers available, a fan is less apt to run out early and get a ticket. Scarcity has its own inertia and creates demand. Chris |

A 30 year old Tom Clinton special showed up at a local shop, I don't know if it's worth $1200. But I'm guessing it's already sold by now.
