Picked it up today from a local seller for $690.
Lots of blue still on it, wood looks great, not a single boogered screw, pre-64 has me giddy.
I never realized how weird these are to load, the shell loads the next shell thing.
No where near as easy as a Henry or Marlin sidegate.  Had a 94 AE in 44 Mag 25 yrs ago, stupidly sold it. Never really liked it really either.
Also I think the guy sold it to me cuz 30-30 is like $3 a rd now.
I load and cast for everything else.

Nice looking gun. It's in great shape considering it's age.

$3 a round?
Its not like we didn't have 4 years to buy truckloads of 30-30 at Wal-Mart at $15.95 a box.

Nice score. I love my pre-64 1958 1894 way more than my stamped USRAC 1894.

I've been shooting Oregon Trail Lasercast gas checked bullets in my 1954 Mod. 94  for years and years. Bought a few thousand of them back in the day. Really nice bullet that can easily be loaded past 2000fps. The folks at OT back in the day, said they could be loaded to jacketed bullet velocities, but I never felt the need to push them that fast.

Need to see what if anything they have in stock.

That’s a nice pre 64. I would have bought that in a quick second if I were in your shoes as well.  I need a set of dies for 30-30.

1952 Win 94, my Uncle's deer rifle (top rifle).  Bought it from my cousin several years ago.  He wanted to give it to me, I refused.  I then offered $600 and he said OK.  I countered with $700 and he was like .

My thinking was that he had no clue of the value of it and the last thing I wanted was him finding out years later he gave me a rifle that was a collectible and worth $$$ and he'd think I ripped him off.

Quite a surprise yesterday when my son's friends came over to use my backyard 200yd range. One brought 3 guns recently given to him by his Grandpa.
A very used and dinged/cracked wood short butt [12.5"] Browning A5 12ga with a Cutts comp on it, Early model REM 742 in 30-06 missing a magazine and a 1949 Long wood, Winchester 94 in 30 WCF. I think my jaw dropped a little.
The 94 had some rough finish and rust bubbles on it but good bore and tight lockup.
Fairly sluggish action to which I attributed to being full of old grease and 15 degree air. I had him hit the rust with some 0000 steel wool lightly and then give all three a light rub with a RIG RAG.
The big shocker to them was not that the M94 was worth probably a grand but how the A5 barrel moved in recoil to cycle the rounds.
I pushed on the barrel and it moved, all three of these Ar15 owning mid 20's kids gasped. "Cool" "WOW" "I didn't know it did that!"

My son took a pic of it, will try to post later.

ETA pics

Nice. Late 50s was peak Winchester. Even the early 60s quality started dropping off prior to the change over
