Looking to scope my new 1894 Marlin.Anyone have recommendations? Will be primarily used for deer hunting 100 yards or less range.

I love using a leupold 1.5x5.

Yes, the Leupold 1.5X - 5X is perfect for that rifle.

I have the same thing on my 45/70, however im planning to replace it with a compact red dot like a RMR, and run that with the peep sight. more compact, and handy that way.

For hunting in the shorter ranges, I prefer a fixed 4x scope.
I can comfortably shoot this magnification keeping both eyes open.

The Leupold 1-4x20mm or 1.5-5x20mm is ideal for the 357.

I find it odd the 1894cst doesn’t have a pic rail on it. Anyone know if it’s easy to put one on and is there a factory option or would you need to go aftermarket? Marlins site doesn’t appear to show any acccessories.

I have a FX2.5 Ultralight on my 1894 and a VX3 1.5-5X on my 444P. Either would work well

I put a trijicon rmr on mine and love it.

I have a Leupold 1-6 up for sale that would be perfect for it. If you get a CDS dial for it you can stretch out the 357.

100 and under, no need for an adjustable optic.
A fixed power will be faster, brighter, lighter and more durable.

Most of my hunting is done with a 77/357 topped with a Leupold FXII 4x33.
Ive run fixed power on my 1894's in the past but prefer a more classic look so have switched them all to Skinner peeps, but the Leopold fixed power is a perfect match for the 1894 if you want glass.

Mines a 44mag but I put a Leupold 1x4 shotgun scope on it with a DNZ mount.

How do you like the DNA mount?  I'm thinking about one for my 1894, seems cleaner than a separate base and rings and can get lower too.

How are you guys getting a decent cheek weld with these optics on the regular stock with such a low comb?
