I've shot both through a buddies 10.5" (unsuppressed). Didn't notice any difference. Both loud as F

You talking ammo or barrel chambering?

Ammo, no real difference. 5.55 is loaded to a higher pressure but as the shooter, it's almost imperceptible.

Barrel, 5.56 or Wylde without question. No reason to risk a KB by loading 5.56 into a .233 barrel.

Is a slower load going to have less flash?

What about 77gr  Mk 262? More flash and recoil or less in a 10.5?

It's more a product of powder type than charge amount (within reasonable limits).

Almost all factory 5.55 and .223 loadings are gonna produce a good deal of blast and flash from a 10.5" barrel.
