Long story short, I bought a used 10/22 in a pink stock for my daughter some time ago. She is getting to an age where I want to present it to her. Tonight I took it out of the safe and the bolt is locked closed. I cannot figure out how to release it and was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Thanks.

Have to press the lever underneath.

It was actually a optic screw that was screwed in too much and blocking the action. Thanks for the reply though.

This is one answer.

Another is if the bolt is glued closed by someone who put entirely too much loctite on those same screws, and it leaked through and glued the action shut.  Wasn't me, but the guy felt real stupid when I pointed out why his gun wasn't working
