It does.

I ordered my PTR-91K with a fixed stock and got it for $869+shipping.  It's coming with the tactical forend.  I found an original H&K collapsible stock, 1st generation, that I'm going to put on it.  The 1st generation fits the shoulder the same way as the fixed stock without that little backwards curve that's normally seen on the collapsible stocks for the H&K 91.  You know, the torture device that H&K put on them for some years.  I just sent JLD an e-mail to make sure that the PTR-91K uses a H&K 93 forend as I THINK that I've found one locally.  It's costing me a bit more to build it this way, but to each his own.

Now the question of optics comes up.  What's the best scope mount for the PTR-91?

By far it is the one made by Brugger & Thomet found on DSA's website.  Here. Its the one in the top left hand corner.

CaptianKevinDarling, JLD confirmed what you said, so it's definitely a H&K 93 forend.  They did say that I'd have to file the inside front of the handguard just a little to get it to fit the larger barrel.

mlm1219, Thanks for the scope mount info.  Looks great.  I can't wait to get this thing and start playing.

Does the B and T mount allow for use of the iron sights as a back up?  Looks like I have to get one.

With the scope removed it does.  I have Larue quick realease rings on mine so I can go back and forth.

I think I'm just going to order one of the freakin 18" JLDs.  Those tactical handguards look gay/50s Sci Fi.  Plus, I think hangin all the shit off a rail is (mall) Ninja-like.  Plus, the 18" are cheaper! HA

Maybe I'm overreacting

BTW, where in the world would you find an HK93 handguard???????

Oh, by the way, did JLD modify the front of the Kurtz receiver (made it longer like the 18"), or was that just under the HK93 handguard?

I'm pretty sure that the receiver is the same and the barrel length under the handguard is where the difference is.

As for where to get an H&K 93 handguard, I have no idea.  It might be easier to find a double barrel, bolt action, semi-automatic shotgun!

OK, wanting to make sure I have this right.

a HK93 wide forend will fit a PTR91-K...with possibly a bit of  file work.......correct?

That's what I was told in an e-mail from JLD, so I'm assuming that it's correct.

Wide HK forestock was developed for the HK93 to combat the heat generated by full auto work and as a bipod mount. It was then used for 91's as it is the same fit on a regular HK91 not the K rifle's. Wide forestocks have always been hard to find and I am sure the supply dried up. The supply of HK collapsable stocks has also dried up and the Choate folder is an option if you need a folder. They are built strong and feel "OK" when you fire your rifle - if you need a folder is fine.  However I personally did not like the feel and look of mine - remember you have to watch your US parts count when you start replacing regulated parts as the stocks are.

The G3 wide forearm is about 2" longer than a 33/93 wide forearm. They are not interchangable.

ETA- the G3K has the same forearm as the 33/93.

To confirm.

YES the HK93(genuine HK) forarm fits the JLD PTR-K,  it take just a 'wee" bit of triming where the bottom of the forarm meets the mag well, but just 2 trims with the knife took care of it.

Have you tried putting it on the EE?  These things are a bit scarce now and will once get harder to come by.  I would buy it, but I found one already.

It sounds like you've had bad luck with the EE forum.  Is that typical?  I've never used it, but I'm curious as to how many people back out of deals after their made online.
