Yeah but the new SP5K is priced above the run of the mill clones, so it is in fact their doing. For the small specialist manufacturers, the high costs are in line with their capacity and the amount of time they have to put in to get their guns right. Buying used guns that are severely limited in who you can sell them to? That's why those prices are so low. And the MKE is cheaper, obviously, but its not too much cheaper. |

Instagram has pics of a batch of these UMP clones.
It won’t be long now before we start seeing them in the wild |

I'd love to have one but I suspect the price to be 3K or more.

Link? Also... LOL@MP7. If people knew how dumb that gun was there would be almost endless threads about it. Because people can't have it - they seem to have told themselves it's NOT a really large .17 cal. I was pretty shocked when I held my first MP7 how stupid large it was for the bullet it shoots. It's funny because the PS90 is 10x more gun in a package that makes sense, with a bullet that while not being crazy is fairly decent. Civilian markets, PS90 hands down all day, military full auto with AP ammo, MAYBE the MP7 can come up to a P90 but only up to, not above. Anyone saying they're making an MP7 clone with a straight face is either in on the joke or they're about to be one.... just my opinion of course. https://www.instagram.com/p/BXy1Su3BbL2/?taken-by=gsg9.us https://www.instagram.com/gsg9.us/ MP7 in 5.7x28mm G36 is apparently Tommybuilt receivers with GSG9 parts project. Is this a receiver + non-existent parts kit? I would be a purist, 4.6x30 please. |

Atlantic has full pistols, well they are now sold out. A lot less than I was thinking they were going to be.

Omega has decided to release barreled upper receivers instead of complete pistols .This will allow the client to use the lower and stock or brace of their choice. This will increase flexibility of the modular system & lower the final cost . Below is a brief video of the Gideon receiver working with the UMP parts kit.

The cross bolt safety alone makes it a stupid gun. 5.7 would be better than 4.6 but then you're looking at a much larger grip. Honestly, it would be sick in 357 but you can't do that and not make it in 9 and 40. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I'll concede that the MP7 in 5.7 is better than a 4.6, but still... In 5.7 it only highlights to get the PS90, and in 9mm it would still be outclassed by the TP9. That gun is so much larger than people think it is, it was really made for full auto only. The UMP guns look interesting enough, but the market will bear too high a cost to make it reasonable. These will cost just as much if not more than a good MP5, or APC9. 5.7 would be better than 4.6 but then you're looking at a much larger grip. Honestly, it would be sick in 357 but you can't do that and not make it in 9 and 40. All cross bolt safety guns are stupid.....................there are some manufactures you need to get in touch with and let them know. |

You can chose the Navy selector now. All cross bolt safety guns are stupid.....................there are some manufactures you need to get in touch with and let them know. View Quote As for shotguns it's a vestigial necessity based on a traditional style stock. And I worked for a modern arms maker for a couple years. Not once did I ever hear "i think we're on the right track, but I think it would be better with a cross bolt safety". Now the TP9-N looks sick. I can't find a semi version available in the US though. |

I had a factory bastardized UMP, not impressed.
It has half the steel, machining and labor required of an MP5, but almost twice the price of a decent MP5 clone. Unless you just have to one in 45, I don't understand. and Bruce Willis never took out a bunch of euro trash with one either. I can't even think of a movie that had a UMP although I am sure it has showed up in some. |

Questions:
Are these milled for double stack magazines? Are the Front Hooks Sized for UMP Lowers? |
|
|
Front hooks are the larger USC ones, and the bolt must be milled to USC dimensions. It's good to go for UMP double stacked mags though.
|
|
|
It's not the only lower you can use; it's the only lower you can use without converting a UMP lower. Fortunately, that's very easy to do.
|
|
What's different about the lowers for these, what modifications need to be done?

Looks like some portion of the trigger pack is protruding preventing it from closing on the receiver. Any thoughts? Are the USC/ ump receiver trigger packs any different other than the loop holes?

The B&T APC 45 seems like the better option. Similar price, 3-lug,
Is there an easy way to get a 3-lug on the UMP? |
|

To those that are in love with these, have you ever shot one F/A? I personally like the mp5 or even uzi way more than the ump.

The B&T APC 45 seems like the better option. If you're referring to an untested clone from a relatively new manufacturer that's just getting in to manufacturing UMP style clones, then I'd go with a B&T APC45. That's just my opinion. Time and a high quality UMP clone product from Omega could flip that way of thinking for me. |
|
You're missing the point.
If you want a UMP, a B&T, a CZ, or an Uru are not what you want. You want a UMP. I fully acknowledge the UMP is an evolutionary step backwards; an obsolete design made of space age materials; a gun that doesn't shoot as well as the one it was supposed to replace. Doesn't matter. I want a UMP. I don't want a B&T. |
|
I want an "UMP" too! Everyone wants an "UMP"...I'm not too sure I want a Omega Gideon Shadow though. At this point all it is is a gun that looks like an UMP. Cohaire's looked like MP5s and I wanted an MP5 but I certainly didn't buy one of them. The clone market can be brutal if you're overzealous to be a giunea pig.

|
We get it, you don't want one.
I'm waiting for reviews myself but I'm cautiously optimistic. |

I spent a weekend running the HK FA line
G36, MP5 & UMP The lower cyclic rate and thump thump thump of 45acp appealed to my bass playing side The CMMG Guard in 45ACP may be in my future |

Wade Bailey was at Tulsa today showing off the Omega line. Had a chance to handle both the gun and the receiver - the receiver looks really well done.

It would have been nice if they used blackened stainless steel inserts instead of brass for the rails. There's not that much different in price but there must have been a reason.

Anyone get one of the $599 Gideon receivers for Black Friday from Omega? I was tempted but just had gotten a B&T USW.

Was anout to get on their preorder bundle special but needed to hear some1st hand reviews first. Then been waiting on Atlantic to get more in stock & for the word to get out that their specific accessories (rails & such) that are uniqueto this receiver are set & out there. Still on the look out for a bolt but have everything else waiting on a Gideon or USC. |
