When I started powder coating, I carefully worked up using lead bullet data. I shake and bake also.
But experience has taught me that I can use jacketed data because I worked up to it.
So now days I load my PC bullets to the max load in 357 and 44 Mag with no leading.
Also shoot the 357 PC loads through my Marlin. Same load for GP100 as for Marlin, shoots great.
Home cast PC 158 gr
round flat nose, 357 case, 16 grs True Blue, standard primer, firm crimp.
This a max load work up to it.
My Marlin won't feed SWC's, so you a round flat nose bullet. Mold I use,
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1010197875?pid=172810 Just ensure your bullets pass the hammer test or they will lead. Don't under cook your bullets.
Also cases must be expanded properly. I suggest a Lyman M die for this.
Sided of bullets scraped=leading and poor accuracy.
Bullet sits just inside case that has been properly expanded with M die. Sized case to the right. Plated or lead bullet, no different to a M die.
Side view. Left case is expanded, righ is a sized case.
With revolver bullets, crimp into the crimp grove.
For auto pistol rounds, OAL must be decreased a little or bullet will stick in the rifling.
The tiny amount does not increase pressure enough to matter.
Since I did an edit, one more pic.
See the SWC's on the left? That's how I know they don't feed well.
