I keep my slings deployed all the time so I don't have that problem

Me too. They are better than innertubes I used to use. |

Quoted: Inner tubes suck. I tried them. Gearward Ranger bands are, IMO, the best. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/153820/20200614_073248_jpg-1586158.JPGOP, pm sent. View Quote you da man!! |

Ranger bands on guns not in the safe.
This for safe stacking: EDIT: Let's try this shit again...... Attached File |

I make my own "ranger bands" by cutting slices off bicycle tire inner tubes. Most bike shops are more than willing to give you old inner tubes from a flat tire. It is amazing how many "ranger bands" I can get off of one large bicycle tire inner tube...and for free.

Neomag sentry strap on my work rifle. Others I just use ranger bands.

Just a bit flatter rigged as shown in the pic above. Trying to capitalize on square footage. I've got shit crammed in my safes, I need to go bigger or add another. |

I’ve only recently started doing the same. That method keeps the gun slim. Quoted: Ranger bands on guns not in the safe. This for safe stacking: EDIT: Let's try this shit again...... https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/416992/Screenshot_20200910-194947_Gallery_jpg-1586566.JPG View Quote |

Ranger bands. They're good shit, I also like them for keeping light pad wires controlled so that they don't snag
|

I’ve been using bicycle inner tube for 25+ years without issue

I got a roll of double-sided Velcro (about 1/2” wide) and cut a piece for each rifle. I just use them in the safe to keep things neat.

I never knew I needed Ranger Bands, but I'll be ordering a set and one for my brother-in-law.

I’m a big fan of the Proctor sling, and this is kinda specific to that sling, but I like it. Depending on the hardware it may work for other slings. For everything else ranger bands.

I like ranger bands, I cut them from old tubes from my mountain bike. I prefer to run the band around the buffer tube, keeps it away from damage and the hot end of things.
I also like ranger bands for cable management on the handguard, and it's very easy to carry alot of spares everywhere. You can loop a few into a chain and then snake it around some unused molle bars. |

Buy an inner tube at walmart for a yuge supply of bands, bonus you can cut the width you need.

I steal my wifes black scuunci hair ties and just double wrap them around my sopmod stocks. They are cheap and work perfect with no complaints with the exception of my wife always asking where her hair ties are and why she keeps losing them LOL

The SOB Tactical combat bands are made of a thicker silicone material, I think they're a step up from the standard rubber inner tube.

Simply pulling on the adjustment tab on my sling loosens it then it falls free. |

These work great - perfect tension and size:

If there's room, I drape the sling excess over top of the magazine for muzzle up storage. That leaves a lot to be desired for neatness and compactness. However, by just bringing the rifle somewhat horizontal to charge it, the sling falls off and is ready to use. Works well enough to the black/plastic side of my safe. The fudd side has carry strap/loop slings, which just chill in the void opposite the belly of the guns.
On guns with a collapsible stock, run the stock all the way in, wrap the sling around the pistol grip and/or magazine, then expand the stock to tension gently. Much better for tighter spaces like a weapon rack and especially in a vehicle where it's liable to get caught on shit. You can also turn the weapon any which way and it will stay put. Remember to take care and ensure the sling doesn't block the ejection port and charging handle so you can still operate it with the stowed sling. |

I’m still trying to figure out a way to stow a sling with ranger bands when the rear of the sling is connected to the other side of the stock (i.e. front end attached to left side of hand guard, rear end attached to right side of stock). Pics are welcome.

Another vote for Gearward Ranger Bands.
They also fit perfectly on a rifle mag; I like to keep a spare one on the base of my primary rifle mags + on each of my 6 'go to' mags. I still haven't worn out my first band (going on two years) but I like to be prepared. I also keep one on my belt as a sort of spare belt loop for keeping the extra length of belt from flopping around. Perfect size for a 1.75" nylon belt. |
