First time I ever saw it listed. Surprised they haven't used one of the big name auction houses for it.
I know what I am getting if I win the lottery tonight.

That’s a CGL-4 which came before the XM148. So that price is not bad. A XM148 goes for the $10,000-$12000 range so this being NOS and all the extra parts isn’t bad. |

After its not so successful field testing in Vietnam, I'm sure Colt knew there wasn't much future for the XM148 in the Army. They probably attempted to market it to foreign countries using their commercial/factory model designation, much like they did with M16 variants. A very interesting piece but past my budget too. |

I went through all of my pictures and managed to put together a short serial number list from what few were visible and legible.
