Will a TA31 ACOG fit the carry handle of an A1 upper?

Thought about trying to snag a used ACOG to use on the carry handle of my
20" A1 inspired rifle.

It has a new 1/7 twist barrel that groups great and we put in a La Rue trigger
so it's kinda begging for an optic of some sort.

I bought the Brownells retro 4x but mine had canted cross hairs and I thought the eye relief
was terrible also.

I know the Military never used the ACOG on any A1 rifles but thought that some of you may have tried that
or know of someone who has.
