I'm looking for a short lever the same length as what's
found on Colt SOCOM ambi selector.

Been looking but can't find one like that. Not looking for
other types. I want it to match the mil-spec ambi selector lever
with a standard and short lever.

TIA

You are SOL man.

Part #SP63005 ambi is the only ride.

Schmid commercial version is the closest that I've found. Sadly, long lever both sides.

Crap. Looks like my A2 and A4 will have long lever both sides
unless I put a standard one on the A4 this weekend. Other
than she short selector lever, I have everything on hand now.

I wonder about the buffer I got for A4. It looks like it's seen a few rounds.
The entire assembly came off a Colt AR15 A2 from early 90's. So it's
25+ years old.

I think I'll post it in a minute. Gotta get pic.

I'm also doing the MEGA rifle this weekend. It got set aside when
I got sidetracked with A2/A4 guns.

Schmid ambi/long levers both sides....

I didn't mind them at first, but the long right side levers are a pain in the ass when shooting. They dig in and make getting a proper grip bothersome.

Yep, my A2 is same. Why I wanted a short lever. I bought
one from EE from who you got the selector I think it was.

Looked long to me but haven't made sure. It's supposed to
be short what seller stated.

I was thinking of removing lever altogether.

It's doesn't look like it would affect the selector,
at least whats on mine anyway. Just a lil screw is all.

Those are single side selectors. The "short" vs "long" lever descriptions are relative to how far the lever overlaps the barrel centerline (for lack of better wording).

I was reffering to the buffer I jus got in.

I bought a Colt A2 extension/stock/grip/handguard
and it's from early 1990's.

I think the buffer and spring shouldn't be used. I jus
post a thread about in it discussion.

Brownells had them couple days ago but show out of stock now. At least it looks like the short one in the pic. https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/safety-parts/safeties/ar15a4-ambi-full-auto-handle-prod82151.aspx

I passed because of the price.

FWIW, the Colt short lever will not fit the Schmid selector in my pic above. Already done tried it.

IDK if mine is Schmid or not. I only know it came from CMMG and has little
screw that secures the lever that bugs the hell out of me
and I haven't even fired it yet.

My A4 won't have ambi until (if ever) I source a Colt ambi.
