Coming out of the gate want to just say that I wanted an SBR with a barrel mounted M203 for the durability. By my understanding, this limited me to one make/model of handguard (KAC RAS), which then limited me to a fixed front sight. Then I slapped IR on this given I have nods.

Fast forward, I got an unobtainium Spuhr M203 sight that is for an Aimpoint T2 (now in the mail - you’ll see the empty mounting surface in the photo), which will go on the side of the gun. My carry handle m203 sight couldn’t be adjusted to point of aim and the ladder sight was taken up by the Perst, so I was already operating with a compromise and kind of had to go this way.

At this point, I’m kind of like, well…irons on an AR sporting an M203 RDS is wonky. So I should probably go back to an optic. It’s also not that great when you shoot 200-300 yards.

For a 12.7 barrel and a fixed front sight, what would you do?

I’m contemplating a TA47 2X ACOG that’s carry handle mounted to clear the FSB and gives decent eye relief. 80% of my shooting is 50-200 yards. 15% of my shooting is 200 - 300 yards. 5% of my shooting is 300 - 550 yards.

Suggestions? Hopefully this doesn’t already look like a meme gun. I can’t stand the short eye relief of a TA31 and don’t want anything more bulky than it like a TA11, which seems to bring me down to TA47 territory. I’m contemplating an EXPS3-4, but I could get slight magnification and BDC with a TA47 ACOG.
