The other thread about sights for an actual hand held pistol setup got me thinking about what would be the shortest buffer tube or BCG/buffer tube combo currently produced. Is there something out there shorter than a standard pistol buffer if one wanted to actually shoot 1 or 2handed like a standard handgun. I know there were AR pistols in the past that didn’t use buffer tubes but I’m not looking for unicorn just something more practical. Anyone have any ideas or thoughts about this. Thanks this is just some stuck in the house musings on a cruddy day.

Technically since there is still a buffer tube involved, just not much of one, the Dead Foot Arms system qualifies.

Strike makes a shortened version of a pistol tube:

LWRC also makes a shortened carbine style buffer tube, not sure about a brace that would fully collapse on it though:

I have one of these. Pretty good quality for the money. I couldnt find a black one anywhere so I bought red, stripped it, and repainted it.

Thanks for the info guys. I completely missed the Strike industries offering. That seems like what I want for this project.
Now just have to find one.
