I have a upper I want to be put together by a gunsmith. I currently don't have the tools nor the time to put it together myself. Any recommendations would be appriciated.
Thanks

Location may narrow the list. Have you checked at your lgs? I would assume a local shop would have an employee or know of a local smith.

Both are excellent and fast. I will always use ADCO because they offer more options that I need. Finishing being one of them. There is no reason for me to split the work order and pay shipping twice.

Currently ADCO has reduced gunsmithing options until the COVID-19 hysteria dies down. I'm waiting for full service to resume.

I've used both John Thomas and ADCO with good results, but JT is still my number one go-to guy.

It takes about the same time to box an upper for shipment as it does to assemble one.

I just sent a DSA barrel to JT to fix, and he was unsure in something i wanted done so he called me. It was great finally talking to him, and his work is fast and communication is excellent.

Post in your hometown forum here about needing help with an upper. I've helped a few locals that needed the tools..

Another vote for John Thomas. His communication with you about whatever you send him, turn around time and quality of his work is top notch. His pin and weld jobs are amazing. He will be my go to gunsmith for anything I need done.

All this time that takes to mail something out, or drop something off, drive over to pick it up, even just posting this message, and looking over recommendations, etc.

You could assemble a dozen complete rifles in that time.

OP said he does not have the tools.  I agree, it’s easy, with the action block, barrel wrench, torque wrench and small tools, but without them, impossible.

John Thomas pinned/welded two barrels for me. You can’t even see the welds. Top notch work and quick turnaround.

I'm not familiar with any AR-15 gunsmiths in Spain....and not sure the import/export headaches would be worth it.

Unless OP is lying about his location of course.

John is the man for sure.

I sent him a fresh flat top, DSA 14.5" M4 barrel, Larue FF rail and a BCG to assemble and his spacer and pin and weld. He got it late Tuesday and I got an email today late afternoon saying it is in the mail back to me.

Can't wait to get it. It should be delivered next Tuesday.  Only thing is the mail is super sloooooow now.
