Hi does anyone know what the vertical line just below the pic rail in the boxy protrusion toward the front of the left side upper is used for? is it a forge marking ? Is it a reference point for something? See pic attached Thanks !!

Also one will notice that its the mark that shows how far into the upper the gas tube progresses.........check it you will be AMAZED!
