Found THIS item already to go but with a 5.5 inch barrel.

Areo products seem to be decent and the discounted price seems hard to beat.
Lots of threads discussing barrel lengths of 4.5 when used with a suppressor but not much about 5.5 inch barrels.

Jump on this or stick with original plan and build one with a 4.5 inch barrel?
What do I lose with a 5.5 barrel as opposed to a 4.5 inch.

No Bolt or CH on the pictured upper. So add that price into to your completed gun.

As for my experience...

I have 4.5's on my two 9 m.m. AR pistols.
I had a six inch AR9, but I sold the barrel.
Because...

It cracked when suppressed, firing 158's.
The temp was in the low 20's which happens in Wisconsin.
So I got a 4.5 to replace it, because I didn't like the unpredictable suppressed performance.

O P. I would stick with your 4.5 inch upper plans.

AERO is apparently using BA barrels. I've been reading a fair number of complaints about feeding issues over on reddit. Macon Armory's feed cone fix is getting recommended a lot.  Just something to consider.

Thanks for the info.
Any links to the threads?

It seems the issue of which you speak is an older issue.

It's pretty current unless they changed it in the last 6 months or less...

OK, as this Aero issue is getting out of hand, I have a EPC receiver set inbound so I can build a test platform to find out exactly what is wrong with the lower, I suspect too much similarity to New Frontier...........if all of those who have had issues fixed by me would suggest to Aero that they contact me for consulting services, I'll be happy to help. I have offered my consulting services by email and my communications have been met with deafening silence. It is getting to the point I can't make my own stuff due to the flood of EPC stuff.
