That would be the BRN-10,  carbine.  Pure sex.  16" mid length.  Coughs them out at 4 o'clock.  Felt recoil is nothing to worry about.  All Brownell parts.  Real fun project.  All parts were 10% off.  Free shipping with edge.  Highly recommend edge with free shipping and no transfer fees.

The hand guards sell only in black, so some rattle can brown was used.  The rest of the furniture was darkened a bit using a mixture of brown, wine. and cherry red rit dye.

Yep, same here.  Dad built it back in 1945.  Grew up there, and I'm there now in retirement.  He built it strong, and has withstood several hurricanes through the years.

Cool...  My folks lived in that house for 50 years.  I should have bought that place...  So many memories.   Good for you.

That is a nice looking AR-10. I love the look of that handguard, I just wish Brownells would make a proper rifle length Portuguese AR-10 handguard.

Bravo on the carbine.

If you are going to collect guns, collect nice stuff. That is a beauty. I love the retro style and 7.62 x 51 is a show stopper.

Congratulations!

Finally, a Brownells retro rifle I'm interested in...

How about some build details?

All parts bought separately from Brownells.  Gosh, what else can I say.  The whole lower was a build kit offered by them minus the fire control group and BCG.  The BCG is from another vendor, KM Tactical, and does have serrations.  Ask me if I care.  Still works like a charm and that's all that matters to me.

Thanks guys for all the feedback.

Very nice, OP!

I have a sudden urge to go to Brownells and look at their AR10 stuff.

OP

That just turned out friggen amazing!

I couldn't find any pics of a 16" BRN-10 anywhere. I'm going to build one now.

Thanks for posting that.
