I like my old 1x, but wouldn't mind a 5x on a 16". Does it come with a QD mount?

The 5x looks nice
![]() Only 10.3 ounces ![]() But at $649.99 I'd rather spend a couple hundred more and buy another ACOG. |

Midwayusa shows $449 for 5x Midwayusa shows $399 for 3x Ok, that's more like it. I was thinking ~$400 would be the sweet spot for me for something like that, as long as it's proven to be reliable. Really petty gripe here, but I wish they would offer a 5x without the red dot mount on top, to make it even sleeker and shave another ounce off. The way Trijicon has manufactured the TA648 with and without the picatinny rail on top, and gives you the ability to remove the RMR mount on all the other ACOG models. Judging by similar optics that have a built in option for piggybacked red dots, I'd bet 75% of people will never mount one, much less use it. |

Unfortunately that's just the way the economics are. Our higher end stuff is made in Japan with some of the work also done in the USA." |

The direct-mount for the Venom on the 5x is pretty slick, and I think it'd be interesting to see other optics perhaps take an MOS-based approach in the future. (I know why you didn't in this case, but what if I wanted a Razor up there?)
I'd also really like to see a 1x GenII that had a fiber optic aiming point. |

These look phenomenal. Is the illumination daylight bright?

Good to know, thanks for the reply. When will these be in stock for purchase?

Still weird that no one wants to touch 4x.

I would like to see a second choice of reticle in the 5x with thin crosshairs and mil or moa drops.
I really like the size and mount. |

I have the last generation 3x Spitfire and love it. I need something for my 300 Blackout upper. I will probably buy one of these. They look nice.

Any idea when the 5x will be available?
All vendors are showing out of stock / back ordering available. Thanks, Doug |

Worst case, if your zero is perfectly between two clicks, you're off by a max of 1/4 inch which can really only be realized if you're a good shot and using a sweet shooting rifle and good ammo. Sure, that max 1/2 MOA discrepancy in this worst case scenario will proliferate itself to larger linear values at greater distances, but for what this sight is designed to do (Be effective on steel, not shooting tiny groups) at varying distances on a 5.56 carbine, it really isn't going to be a hinderance when in the hands of the shooter it was designed for. If precision really is your first priority, then get a more traditional variable power optic with turrets that dial in finer increments. Pretty simple.
