I have some NIB Colts, some boxes are in great condition and some have seen better days. Any better way to preserve them besides keeping them dry and not handling them?

polyurathane? Shelac? Varnish? Clear packing tape.

Doing about all you can to preserve paper.
After you die your family will not care and they will be thrown away anyway.
