When were these magazines officially adopted and what month and year code would an early magazine have? I can't seem to find an article that references a specific date of adoption. The one pictured in this article seems to show it without a date code at all. Maybe it is a field trials magazine?

I think they started making em in ‘15 and were issued in ‘17.

The article you posted indicates that the US Army introduced these new mags in July 2016 with a new NSN #.

Does that mean they were officially adopted that same month?  Not sure.
