Don't hear about this particular mag very often. Any positive/negative experiences with Troy mags?

USGI < PMAGS < Lancer

OKAY Surefeeds are one one side or the other of Lancers but I havne't looked into them enough otherwise.

Outside of those 4, I just wouldn't. I don't see a reason to go for anything else, and have yet to see anything that would outperform these in their respective categories.

I bought 6 of them when the 3 packs were on sale for a good price, just to try them out.

I haven't been impressed with them, but they do work.  If the price is the same I would just as soon buy P-mags.

I gave my 3 away to a friend when he got his first AR. They are super flimsy. Wouldn't bother spending the money on them when quality proven mags are dirt cheap.

According to Troy's website: "The Troy BattleMag® is the best polymer magazine in the world – hands down."

I’ve had good experience with them. Fired a bunch full auto in training today.

I have not had any issues with them however I would not consider my current range time with them hard use.  They have fed reliably so far and seem to be a decent buy when they go on sale.

You would get more explicit opinions if you asked this in GD.

I've got a handful of them.  They've worked fine as range mags, but past that I wouldn't use them for anything serious... pmags, usgi, or lancer for me otherwise.

They work fine.

Don't leave them loaded fir any period of time though.

They will expand and you can't get them half way into the mag well.

Great low cost range mag though.

Thumbs down on the Troy mags, but I’d add to the “good” mags list...

Elander steel mags
Hex mags

Had a bunch. When in flat baseplate mode they will break if dropped on concrete. Take down is annoying. Feed lips spread too easy. Spits rounds out if dropped loaded.

Avoid.

I have 5 that came with a a Troy carbine. I would not have purchased them...
The pull tab floorplate was a nice touch. However the feedlips spread noticeably.

For the cost there are much better options.

I have 9 of them which I use as range mags.  I don't leave them loaded and haven't dropped a loaded one.

I can say that I've put at least 1500 rounds through them and don't remember any magazine related failures.

YMMV

Good magazines. No issues here. I would ditch their stupid small mag pull floor plate and just use the regular floor plate.

I have had good luck with mine I purchased about 10 of them because they were affordable. Tested them in several lowers with no issues of fitment and performed flawlessly. That said I prefer lancers for piece of mind.

What's affordable?

I would rather pay $5 more for 100% worry free.

Guess that makes affordable under $3

Something tells me the people who love them, are also Anderson fanboys.

I have five for which I paid $6.99 a piece. I leave them loaded and have not had any issues with them. As reliable as my PMags. Actually, the only mags I've ever had problems with were aluminum USGI mags.

They are my go to hunting mag. I like how thin and quiet they are when stalking through brush.  I've never had a feeding problem with mine and have used them to about -10f.  I have a variety of other metal/polymer mags and they are all heavier or bulkier or louder in the brush. They also seem to transfer less cold to my hands/ body than other mags in the cold.

There pure junk !

Leave them loaded and the lips spread wide and rounds will just pop out by themselves under spring pleasure!

Troy magazine's are fine.   I've had some loaded for years no problem.  I like the grip pattern around them.  They're easy to load and never jammed on me.

Okay mags but not my first choice. I bought a few to try when they first hit the market. Never had any issues with them working. The Magpuls and Lancers seem to be better made.

I got one free at a 3gun match and used it for a few stages, when I unloaded at the end a few rounds got spat out of the feed lips.
Haven't used it since.
