Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Surefire UE tailcap doesn’t fit on scout M600 body? What gives?

I got a brand new Scout M600V vampire director from SF two weeks ago. I have an old UE tailcap. It only threads on about 1/2 of one turn and jams up - like it’s the wrong thread pitch.

Funny thing is that my switch plugs into it and the light still functions with the cap only threaded onto the body about a half turn.

What gives? Do not all scout tailcaps for scout bodies?

They made a change a couple years ago. You can't mismatch "generations".

I had the same problem, contacted surefire, and they sent me a new cap.

Well damn, that sucks.

You think they'd put a new part number on that.  How does a company that does mil-sales and has mil contract/procurement experience let something stupid like "the old tailcaps don't fit but we'll keep the same PN on them anyways" even happen?
