Hello all. I’m considering a drop in trigger for my PSA  AR15 Pistol. The factory trigger is an “EPT’” and is fine so far but I’m considering an upgrade. I want to stay under $150 so I’ve narrowed it down to a Velocity Classic Drop In with a Curved Trigger and a 4.5 pound trigger pull. Is this a good choice or should I stick with the factory EPT trigger? Is there a better drop in offering for under $150? Is a 4.5 pound trigger pull in the correct ballpark for a weekend 100 yard target shooter? Thanks in advance for any input.

Do not know anything about that trigger but I've installed the CMC 2.5lb trigger ($140)and PSA's 3.5lb trigger (was like $85) and was happy with them.

4.5 seems a bit heavy for a range gun, at least for me. All of my hunting/target triggers are three pounds or less BUT it boils down to personal preference and I like lighter triggers with no creep. Velocity makes a great trigger as does CMC and Timney, probably the next most important upgrade you can do on a gun (next to the barrel).

I'm sure Velocity makes a good aftermarket trigger.  I've never used them, though.  My personal experience has been with Elftmann SE, CMC, and Hiperfire EDT.  My favorite of those is the CMC and Hiperfire.

Friend of mine just bought one of those. Think he shot it already. No complaints from him.

Timney Impact is a nice trigger in that price range, but is only 3lbs which is lighter than I'd like in a pistol.

But it's not a drop in cartridge.

But I don't care if it's loose parts or a cartridge unless I'm using a poly lower receiver.
With polymer, you need that trigger chassis.

Thank you for the referral to AIM Surplus.  Their prices for ammo and AR parts are outstanding! I already ordered 5.56 and .308 ammo at the lowest prices I’ve encountered this year. Thank you again!

Another vote for CMC 3.5# trigger. I have 3 flat bows and love em.

Especially for what you want it for Op, you can't go wrong.

Yes Sir. I’m researching the CMC trigger as we speak. Thank you.

I prefer the flat trigger, but there's the same thing in Curved if that's your style.
