I can get through 2-3 mags with out any issues feeding or chambering, but as the chamber gets dirty, the rounds stop seating.  The carbon seems to be building up to the point that its actually physically holding the round back and keeping the bcg out of battery.  A brass brush and Some gun scrubber and im back in business for another 2-3 mags.  I don't have this issue on any of my other firearms.  Im about 400 rounds into this pistol build from PSA and id love it if I could get 6-7 mags out of it at least before it needs a cleaning.  When they stop chambering, the BCG jams and its a beast to get  it to unchamber/extract the loaded round.   Suggestions?

Thanks!

Brass cased American Eagle XM193  and ZQI Turkish ammo that Walmart used to carry.

I had a cheapy Bear creek arsenal barrel that was doing similar things.
Ended up replacing everything except the BCG, upper and lower on that POS.

I had a nitrided PSA barrel that would do the same. Steel cased ammo was MUCH worse however once the chamber became dirty brass would eventually stick. Took a cleaning rod with more force than I’d like to dislodge the case.

I always wondered with some constant usage if the chamber would break in.

Then the reality of all the ammo wasted in doing so on a $230 AR snapped me into reality and that upper was sold with a quickness.

That zqi was really dirty for me, but I run mostly suppressed and I’ve never had that happen.

Contact PSA.

Lowest common denominator.  PSA bbl.  Ream to spec or replace.

Cheap hurts sometime.

I appreciate the advice. I bought it for the girlfriend for Christmas last year. We were able to take it out once before I went to work in Alaska for 8 months.  Got it back and have been dealing with this off and on for the last couple of months. Its been frustrating to say the least.

Thanks again.

That is good service!  It does sound like your chamber is challenged.  I ran into this years ago when trying to switch between brass case and steel case ammo in a single range session, but no reason why you shouldn't be able to get 20+ mags out of an AR before serious cleaning is needed.  I've built more than a few rifles using PSA parts, no issues so far.  The gun I run the hardest is a PSA 10.5 CHF barrel with a Geissele rail.  That thing is a champ, takes abuse like you wouldn't believe.  It definitely holds up to more than 20 mags between cleaning, and it sits on top of a lower with a binary trigger, so it sees the rounds fast.

I'm having a similar issue with a new build.  The spent brass is sticking.  Some eject and some don't.  When they don't I have to separate the receivers and rap the CH (side-charger) against something and then they come out without any difficulty.  The barrel manufacturer denied it could be an issue with the chamber.

Fine.  It's grabbing.

100+ rounds went through it, between clicking the adjustable gas block up to wide open and wondering if it was a break-in issue.

That I can't manually extract by simply pulling back on the CH makes me think it's not a matter of being under-gassed.  Even with no gas, should I need to mortar it every time?

Thanks.  I haven't fired the REC7 in a few years, but the ammo ran fine through that.

Being a little OCD, every new barrel gets the chamber cleaned very well before the first round goes into it. Most are cruddy when you get them. Use a hand drill and a chamber brush wrapped with 0000 steel wool coated with a little oil for lubrication. Usually, 10 or 15 seconds will leave you with a bright, shiny and slick chamber. You do not want to remove material, just smooth any rough surfaces left behind by the maker. Never had any issues feeding or extraction issues after doing this procedure.

I have also done this with some of my old surplus rifles many of which were really cruddy when acquired.

I found that JB Bore Bright spun on a .30 caliber cotton bore swab works really good and gives the chamber a nice bright finish.

I appreciate the offer Josiah.   After I made the post and found out there isn't really a fix for it, I purchased a new barrel  and just did a barrel swap.  It solved the problem and is running perfect now.

A couple of weeks later I think it was, we purchased a new rifle from PSA and it works fine as well.
