Not the best deal they've had but $589 with midwest industries mount @DSG
https://dsgarms.com/kt-miqd30-stn5202

Or $479 for just scope at Botach.  Botach takes forever to ship though fyi.

Damn that was a steal of a price at optics then. Thanks for the links.

Looking to replace a Leupold VX-R with the duplex firedot with a P4Xi, is $460/shipped a decent enough price to jump on? Found it at that price through DSG.

If it includes the throw lever, that's a decent price....

Buddy saw the $2600 M6Xi at SHOT and said it was awesome.

If Steiner decides to make a P6Xi, it will do very well.

Seriously fuck these scopes. Bought one and it died after 3k-ish rounds. Got a brand new replacement quick and easy from Steiner --good customer service. Took the replacement today out after it sitting in the box for a couple months trying to sell on local listenings. Put it on a 16" tikka t3x in 308 Winchester. Didn't even make it through 30 rounds and the thing is dead again. Gonna call Steiner in the morning and see if they can do literally anything but send me another one of these.

Just curious. What was the problem occurred that you considered they were dead?

A lens on the inside detached so the scope isn't usable. Can hear it rattling around inside.

1x should have an image to the edge of the tube, but because a lens detached it looks like your view on 1x is several feet away and out of focus. You can see the reticle, but it's not in plane with the scope image at any magnification. That's why I moved the camera back and forward into to eye box to show there was no change.

Just called Steiner's technical support. Got a return label and RMA case file done and emailed in less then 4 minutes on the phone from a US-based customer support person. Same great support they had last time I called when this happened. CS reported they really never hear about these scopes failing and that they are rated to a 50 BMG. I must have just terrible luck.

Just, got a p4xi from dsg and box was sealed had battery already in the scope?  Glass is clear but when the day light illumination is set, the top have of the cross-hair is illuminated with the red dot.  This does not happen in night or low light settings.  I take it that this is not normal?  Sent an email to DSG.  Just wanted to know if anyone else had this going on with their p4xi.

thanks,

I'm pretty sure mine had the battery in it already too.  The cross hairs do become red on mine if the dot is turned up too high.I

I just checked mine and I can confirm that when the dial is set to the highest setting the illumination does bleed up the vertical reticle line above the dot. However I have tested my scope against bright white snow on a sunny day with the result being that I was able to set the dial to a setting that gave me a crisp round dot, crisper than my Aimpoint PRO, that was bright against the snow. I doubt that I will ever need the highest setting for anything.

My P4Xi was delivered in a factory sealed box with one battery installed, and one additional battery in a small ziplock bag.

My P4Xi is the 5202 with the throw lever included.

Thanks, you are correct when using the daylight setting mid day outside I don't see the vertical line.

Snagged a 5201 from DVOR last night for $379 right before the deal expired and got a ship confirmation today. With the Steiner 10% rebate that gets it down to a little over $350.
Does anybody know if the Tenebraex lens covers for the T5Xi 1-5x24 will fit the P4Xi ?
Specifically 24mmUO-FCV objective and 40mmF-CCV ocular.

A complete bust on the Tenebraex covers. The P4Xi scope body is apparently of a smaller outer diameter than the T5Xi scope that these cover are designed to fit. Crap.
Back to EuroOptics they go. Looks like I'll be going with the Vortex covers like everybody else.

Just picked up a Steiner, off EE. I haven't owned a red dot scope before, but so far I'm impressed. Seems like a solid piece of kit. The glass is really nice. I see hardly any distortion at the edges, at 1x. My Trijicon TR24 has a slight bit of it, at 1x, but its really a non-issue. I haven't got to take it to the range yet, so I haven't got to FF the turrents yet. The dial for the red dot doesn't have "solid" detents for each adjustment, but they're plenty tactile. Steiner has a very good rep in the optics biz, so I feel confident that this scope will deliver ... I hope.

Some Steiner porn. My AR had a carry handle previously, so I have to pick up a BUIS. Scope mounted in a Midwest Industries mount.

The P4Xi in 4-16 has been very problematic.  The parallax adjustment would seize upon tightening the front clamp.  I went through 4 of them.  Others had problems as well and one major Steiner seller has stopped all sales of that model.  The solution was to change brands.

The 4-16x50, German built, Military model that I use has been flawless.

Recently grabbed a P4xi as a low cost stop-gap solution until my NF 1-8x ATACR order is fulfilled. Just needed an LPVO I can run in matches for the time being. I plan to run it pretty hard on a 308/762. We'll see how she holds up.

A lot of guys are using Vortex Defenders, size 20 and 24. I had a hard time putting Vortex branded covers on my Steiner but the covers are really nice. I did grind the first stop notch off the rear cover so it would pop open and automatically lay flat against the scope.

Defender as above, my only complaint is that they don't make them in all the sizes I need for other scopes. They blow butler creek out of the water.

Does anyone know the subtensions of the BDC in inches/moa/mils?? The subtension explanation on Steiner’s site sucks balls.

Strelok Pro allows you to dial in the load according to your round like so, from there you can set the distance to each yardage and it'll also tell you the holdover value.

Any way to get some daylight reticle pics with max brightness? I’m hesitant to switch from a segemented circle reticle to a dot one, however I’m curious if the P4Xi brightness makes it just as easy to pick up.
