For those of you in the South East  what camo colors do you rattle can your rifles? Show me what you have and what paint was used.

If I still lived in NC I would probably go with these same patterns.  Because I lack artistic skill and creativity.  These are a couple of my spray can jobs using Krylon khaki and OD on the foliage patterns.  OD, light green and brown on the sponge job.  I've omitted green for brown and tan only on some guns.

I prefer a lighter color scheme, even in areas with dense green forests, like here in coastal NC.

Years ago, I lived in the wet side of Oregon, which had similar dense forests.  I had a hunting buddy who had an unusual camo on his rifle for the area.  Tans, browns, light green and a touch of red.  When I first saw it, I thought it would stand out in the forest.  But when we went in the forest, I saw the logic.  The floor of the forest has a lot more tan, brown and reds than dark greens.  It was much more effective than I expected.

For my go-to SBR, I decided to imitate his camo.  I have done a couple of my rifles this way now too.

It does seem a bit light. What colors and method did you use? I'm looking for ideas I'm in the Jacksonville area.

I'd add some green were I closer to the coast, but around me it's mostly clay and I haven't had any issues with this in the treeline. The dashes of earthy red help quite a bit when around pine straw.

I'm also not a big hunter so don't take this as gospel

The top one almost brought a tear to my eye, one of my best friends I grew up with in CA, who recently passed, had done his Mosin Nagant in the same color camoflauge with almost the exact same pattern. I live in NC now and think you are correct on that pattern works great especially up here in the mountains, FYI Live on the TN/West NC border up in Carter County TN, Avery County, NC. Well works great in the spring to fall, not so much the winter lol.

Those are some nice looking jobs.  I spray a solid tan base and then stripe it with black, green and brown.  It breaks up the shape.

Thank you, I appreciate it! Especially since it only took about 10 minutes after the base coat was dry!
