Tape the bottom up and fill the pocket with jb weld. Try again

What'd you mill the trigger slot with? Maybe the camera angle makes it look larger than 5/16"

It was a 5/16 end mill. Other than the obvious screw up, I made a guide run on the surface and used a 7/16 instead of 1/2 and caught it after making the scratch pass.

I've always used 7/16". Every drawing I've seen notates as .218R.

I normally use a 1/2" roughing mill then a 7/16" to finish and the plans from one of the sticky links but got a new 1/2" finishing end mill that works very well and my print out I adjusted it for final pass using 1/2 and forgot.

I agree. I have yet to view the "Russian Lathe" video but am stupid cautious on the lathe and even then a stainless stringer ripped my light out.

I've done similar by not paying attention to what I was doing. A "cartridge" type trigger worked just fine.
