The options I've seen for sling mounts for fixed stocks kinda suck. What do we think about these 2 options from GG&G?

https://www.gggaz.com/looped-receiver-end-plate-sling-adapter-for-fixed-stocks.html

https://www.gggaz.com/receiver-end-plate-sling-adapter-for-fixed-stocks.html

Is there anything similar out there that offers modern QD swivel attachment? The thing that really sucks about the GG&G options I linked is that they make the already too long A2 stock even longer.

I saw that in my searching yesterday and saw that it was discontinued so I gave up looking for it... So they're still out there you say? Might have to go on the search again.

Looks like KAC offered something similar to GG&G, but in QD at the expense of even more added length to the A2 stock.

Surely adding QD sling sockets to a fixed stock without adding length can't be so difficult that even KAC can't find a decent solution.

Call and ask, you'd be amazed what's still in certain inventories with discontinued products no longer for sale.

Believe me, I've thought about it for certain rifles, but it's firmly in the category of Magpul products that I just haven't been able to warm up to the looks of.

Their rifle stock is what I'm referring to if that's what you meant.

Ha! I've considered that one for a while, and I just put in an order with Damage Industries yesterday. It really is the simplest solution, but I just don't like the placement of it. I prefer QD sockets either near the upper back end of a stock, like where it would be on a Magpul CTR or MOE SL, or in the runner up position near the end plate.

Can't you be normal and use the normal assault sling setup for the legacy 20 inchers?

Sheesh!

I could, but then I'd even have to be a bit different with that set up. Honestly, I could get used to how it's set up at the rear even though it's not QD, but the front wrapped around the handguards would have to be changed up to a barrel mounted side sling swivel mount.

Only thing I wonder about is if it interferes with the charging handle at all?

I had just realized that your header says socks instead of stocks

Have you considered maybe the custom option of drilling into and custom fit your own QD cup into the stock?

LOL!

You shouldn't have told me! It would have been much more embarrassing if I realized it a week from now.

Off to correct that!

I have considered the custom drilling for a QD cup option, but I wouldn't want to do it to all my fixed stocks... For when the reproduction CS stocks hit the market (fingers crossed) I'll need to ditch all those nasty A2s in a hurry and they'd be easier to sell if they were unmodified.

I see that Rock River Arms offers something similar to GG&G...

I had something like that back in the day. I think mine was made by Blackhawk.

Not at all.  Very low profile.

@556Cliff

You have any access to someone with a sewing machine and the skills to use it proficiently?

With the link that the recent post showed, I looked at the actual company's site and got an idea.

You could buy the Raider 2 Point Sling from Specter Gear for $34.00 and modify the rear end.

Or...

Purchase this buttstock magazine pouch from the same company and modify using this from Grovtec.

I have one of the Knights adapters that does indeed lengthen the stock. I used to use it with a rock river shorty stock to make up for the added length.

That's an interesting idea... Just as I'm thinking about using parade slings again, Lol.

My dad actually used to do upholstery work 38 or so years ago and he knows how to sew, but he's more than retired from that.
