I’ve been looking at this kit from PSA:

PSA 300 BLK Kit

I will always shoot suppressed, and probably most likely always subsonic

Will this kit work well for what I’m trying to achieve?

Or will I need to swap out parts to make it a reliable pistol/rifle? (i.e. gas block, BCG, etc.)

Can't answer any of your questions but ordered mine (same exact kit) this morning.

Get it, shoot it, adjust if needed. If issues cycling, start with a heavier buffer. Then a adjustable gas block if still issues. I have a 10 inch using a sandman-s shooting Hornady 190 subs. Nice and quiet.

I bought that this summer.
I didn't build it as a pistol, I stuck it on one of my SBR lowers then I moved it to one of my work issued select fire lowers.
No issues suppressed, unsuppressed, subsonic, supersonic and even full auto.
I'm using an H2 buffer in all my setups.

I tried it on my AAC 762SDN6 suppressor for awhile then I got my Sandman-K in.  Both worked fine.

This is great to hear

I’ll keep it as a pistol for now but I may end up throwing it on my SBR lower

Can I throw this 8.5” upper on my SBR that has the paperwork filed for an 11.5” barrel?

I would buy it if I didn’t just finish a build. I went 7.5” barrel. Pistol buffer.  Shoots perfect with supers or subs with my omega can.

You can toss the upper on your sbr lower.

I have four sbr’d ar15 lowers and more short uppers.

I was keeping the extra uppers at work but broke down and just built pistol lowers to have around. (I bought 15 stripped lowers awhile back during a sale).

I thought about this, but I like having separate rigs

And the SBA3 brace is essentially a stock

I'm not sure if they changed the barrel profile since I bought mine but the barrel wasn't thick enough for a proper shoulder.

When I tried to mount a muzzle brake the shims would push right over the shoulder

I ended up using a flash hider that indexed off the muzzle face and it worked fine

Just built it and switched out the rail so my suppressor will fit right under the edge of it
