Sad thing is I’m not really in the process of much I don’t have parts for.

Beat up XM177E1 and maybe a proto thanks to previous secret Santas but wasn’t planning on one until I was given seed parts.

I’m in the same boat. Just finishing up another 723 build. I do love carbines.

If you're askin'........

Like everyone else I'm always looking for gray trigger guards, no ticks, port doors and mag release buttons.

Could use some take down pins and it's always nice to have little springs and detents for everywhere and maybe a buffer tube for the gray A2.

Chromed things are always nice.

NO 601 PARTS PLEASE!

I still have the 601 grip Santa sent years ago and I am FORTUNATE it hasn't turned into anything expensive yet!

A couple of years ago my secret Santa sent me a "circle 1" SP1 magazine. It just recently turned into my 1964 SP1 - after all, I just HAD to have the rifle to go with that mag, lol

Thank you Santa!

Now, when I was a kid my mom always let us open one present on Christmas Eve. I’m just saying........

Waiting for the grownass men that are my boys to wake up for Christmas morning festivities.

I opened my present.

Santa must have some very liberal criteria for what constitutes a "good boy".

I have been a rottenass all year long and Santa humbled me with retro swag.

I will take pictures and post later but had to pop in to thank the fat guy in red for his over whelming generosity!

I have to say, I'm a little taken aback at my Secret Santa's generosity.

One of Santa's elves just stopped by, turns out a package was left in Santa's sleigh to there was a delay in getting it here.  Handguards with drain hole, pistol grip and Type E stock.  Might force me into yet another rifle.  Thanks Santa!

I’m posting this late bc the house ate it for awhile, but I found it!  I got a carrier! Yay!  This is going into my 603 build with a Colt barreled upper.  Thanks secret Santa!

As previously mentioned, Santa's idea of "good" must be quite lenient, because he spoiled me!

Now I've always tried to do well by my target over the years and I gave a pretty good one this year. I've done 603 uppers in the past on PIF and SS but.....

Santa was feeling mighty generous and sent the following.

" />

" />

There were a few other things not pictured. A carbine receiver extension that already found a home on one of my carbines and a scope mount because Santa KNOWS I'm getting old and can't see the irons like I used to.

I don't want anyone thinking they didn't give enough or feel cheated because they didn't get enough. As i said I have given so pretty sweet swag over the years that I was no longer needing for the builds I had decided upon and I was trying to give to someone that was just getting started.

I've loved every SS swag bag I've ever received and I've been proud to help younger or newer guys out when I can.

All that being said Santa was feeling VERY generous and I want him to know that it was very kindly appreciated!

I hope everyone had a great time with their loved ones over the holidays and I wish everyone a happy and prosperous New Year!

I thank all the great guys on here that help spread the knowledge of our beloved retro rifles!

Retro is the BEST forum on the interwebs!

Can confirm. M56 pouch for the M1911A1.

VN era correct!

ETA

Just because I know what it is don't mean I sent it. My SS target was further south.

All of the .45 pouches I have have the hangers or go over a belt but they would still be era correct for Uncle Sam's Misguided Children in VN.

That is indeed a mag pouch for a 1911.  They work very well with a web belt and old flap holster.  I have 2 I bought a a gun show 25+ years ago and wish I got more.  Very nice.

I would also like to echo the kudos to Tom for coordinating this.  Thank you Sir for your contribution in coordinating this exchange!

Dayum that IS sad! And I DID laugh!

I see a new Mattel Carbine in your future!

I've wanted a Mattel 603 for the longest time! I've got the Mattel masking to do the etched engraving but haven't gotten around to doing it yet.
