Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Scope rings for an MP10

I'm looking to trim some weight off my MP10 and going to ditch the cantilever mount and use a smaller scope.

I'm basically looking at Vortex, Talley and Warne rings and from what I can find so far the Vortex rings might be lighter for a given height, but I kind of like the vertical split Warne and Talley rings.

Also thinking of adding open sights and thinking about QD rings. I have some Leupold QD rings on another rifle and they do come loose at times. It's not that hard to carry a proper tool but if Warne or Talley QD rings would be worth it then might as well.

Anyone have experience with these on 308 AR and any suggestions?
