Recently finished completing a lower. Noticed that when it has been dry-fired, the safety will still toggle from FIRE to SAFE. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to lock into the FIRE position, no?

Using Odin Safety selector and CMC trigger. Maybe one of these parts has something to do with it. Not planning to use it until I know everything is working properly.

Does anybody have experience with this?

Your selector should not be able to move to safe while hammer is down.

This is a "cassette" trigger?

The safety seemingly functions properly as it won't fire while on SAFE.

The detent and spring have been installed as well.

Either the trigger, safety or safety hole is out of spec...or there is some tolerance stacking with your particular safety and trigger combo.  I would start with a different safety selector as the cheapest part and see if any work better.  Of all the different stock and aftermarket safeties I have used over the years, no two have been exactly the same.  I had an Elftmann SE trigger that did not get along with any safety but their push button safety.  I've had stock style safeties that feel sloppy, mushy and vague in one build, feel crisp, tight and snappy in another.
