Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Rubber AR barrel muzzle thread protectors

Greetings all!

Does anyone know where to get those rubber caps that some companies include with their barrels that go over the muzzle end and protect the threads?  You’d think it’d be easy to find on google but it doesn’t seem to be.  I don’t want a metal one that protects the threads and allows you to shoot the weapon and stuff, I want one one of those rubber ones that simply protect the threads and the muzzle while the barrel is sitting on a shelf, waiting for you to get to a build that needs it and stuff...

Cut a short length of gas line hose or similar that fits tight.

Rubber pipe cap? Look around the hardware store or McMaster Carr for the right size.

Have one laying on my bench, .64+/- it fit a 7/16" socket I had pretty about right. You could go a bit smaller if need be, but not larger.  Oh this is from a 6.5grendel barrel I just picked up a while back.
