Picked up this at my local gun shop. Looked brand new in the box with all the packaging. It didn’t have batteries so not sure it works until my Amazon order for them comes in but don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t.

Not sure what I’m going to do with it but I’m sure I’ll find some use for $30

Update: Got my batteries from Amazon today, popped them in and works like a champ

Look like an Aimpoint 1000.

Neat find.  I had that exact model on my "all new" Colt AR15A2 back in 1988.  It was a sweet setup back in the day.  I gave the scope to my brother years ago.

I think it’s an “electronic E2” which would have been the first red dot. Found this on Aimpoints web site

It's the predecessor of the 1000.

I've never seen one that old in such great shape.

I have the exact same unit.   The original batteries were 3V mercury and unobtainable now.   They work fine with CR123 3V lithium, just peel off the plastic jacket on the battery and they drop right in

I ordered 6 of the original type batteries from Amazon for $9 which I figure will be a lifetime supply.

Nice score! I have couple similar, but doubt they work. Going to mount on some Star Wars blasters for the grandsons.

Yeah you got yourself a Mark III.
1000 looks a little different.

When I was in the 160th SOAG (A) our new miniguns were issued with Aimpoint 1000 scopes in 1988.
They'd fall off so we mounted them on our M16A2s.

Cool pics- I remember seeing a similar setup in a warm and humid location somewhere OCONUS back in the late '80s. There were several predecessors, actually.  I had a G2 for a while and sold it to a buddy in my outfit when I upgraded to the 1000.  I am holding my Aimpoint 1000 in my hand right now; I still have the box and papers.  According to the price tag I paid $149.95 (plus tax) in November of 1987 for it at Bible Hardware in Abilene, TX- I had it mounted on my SP1 and then my stupid heavy R6600 (still have the box and papers on those, too ).  The sight is still functional- made in Sweden FTW!!!

I've been told the older batteries should never be stored in the Aimpoint due to a history of leakage.

ive been searching for pictures that show these in use in the wild on any type of military forearm and cannot find any.

Weird double-tap in that instead of editing it it posted it as a new post with my original text but then the added text as well

There’s a post two up from yours showing one in military use.

I mean I guess it could be a civilian Blackhawk and mini gun

Edit: just saw you said “FOREarm” and not “FIREarm”

Carry on

A slightly better picture of an Aimpoint 1000 for comparison.

I bought it new back in... 1992?

Nice find.
I'm pleasantly waiting on an Aimpoint 2000.
Found on line.
Going to loose the aimpoint pro on a clone 723 and replace with the aimpoint 2000.
