Are these the CHF ones they advertise on the Remington Defense site? Just bought one of the 11.5 barrels for my pistol, still a great deal if it's not CHF.

For a bill if it groups within spec it's a deal for that profile and CL. And no worries with mag dumps.

Just ordered a14.5 from the Remington Defense web site it looks like all their M4 barrels are hammer forged.
The same barrel is going for a current bid of $150 on gun broker. I would think these are overruns from Remington military contracts due to the fact the have the flats. |

Looks like a good deal, cant find any info about remington ar barrels but it's only $100. I was about to buy 1 or 2 but they don't ship components to NY, FCDNN i guess...
Also they're running multiple auctions of the barrels on gunbroker that are bidded up over $150, so expect the prices to go up shortly after they've tested the waters on how much more people will pay. |

I called one of their "experts." He said "the bore is chrome lined, but not the barrel."
Not CHF either. Hopefully/maybe he is mistaken. Those who ordered, please let us know. |

What does Remington know about AR15s? Or for that matter quality in the era of Freedom Group. Are these really any different than DPMS, Bushmaster, or the Colt competition stuff they sold a few years back? I don't get the excitement, it sounds like these barrels are a 'pig in a poke'. Cheap crap is still crap, isn't it? Maybe if it didn't have Remington written on it.

$129.99 barrel.
Idk, $99 is a third of a way to a Colt barrel that's a known quantity. The Remington barrels will probably work, but it's not really fair to compare them to something that's tried and true. I need a 14.5 to fix one of my clones, but I know the Remington mark would bother me more than the BFI 16" barrel that's currently on it. I'd almost be afraid to let a Remington barrel into my domicile for fear that the rest of my firearms would start to rust just from being in the same room with it.
Curious to see how these barrels work out for those that ordered them, but I'm sure they'll sell out before those reports come in. |
